Jake Moss, shaper/owner of Moss Research Surfboards, began his creative journey in surfboard design over 15 years ago in Encinitas, California. Moss’s focus and life–passion lies in creative problem solving: helping us reconnect with the basic principals of ecology and sustainable life values. With over two decades worth of surfing experience, he was able to implement a cutting-edge, sustainable design process that has garnered him recognition in the international surf community. His shaping portfolio is one of the most versatile, including innovative thruster alternatives and his most sought after “Spacecake” single fin. Moss crafts with the eye of a true artist and the workmanship and precision of a scientist. His goal is to enhance the individual surfing experience as we move forward as a culture of sustainability.
